Patria has made a three-year agreement with Turkish Airlines to train their new pilots. Patria and Turkish Airlines will introduce Airbus A320 Multi-Crew Pilot License (MPL) training as a joint effort. Patria will arrange all theory and Phase 1 flight training, followed by instrument flight training during MPL Phase 2. Turkish Airlines will continue with MPL Phases 3 and 4 in their new Flight Training center in Istanbul.

“This agreement is a natural expansion to our international pilot training growth strategy. Patria have three years of experience in Airbus A320 MPL training, and we are extremely proud to become the first and primary A320 MPL partner in close cooperation with the airline. We truly look forward to start our cooperation with Turkish Airlines, one of the largest airlines in the world,” states Jyrki Myyryläinen, Director of Patria’s Pilot Training.

“The training will take 14 months at Patria´s bases in Córdoba, Spain and Tampere-Pirkkala in Finland. Training in Istanbul will take another four months before final completion of the MPL program. Total training time is therefore 18 months”, continues Myyryläinen.

The first group of students will start before the end of 2019 after the Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation has approved the training license for the Turkish Airlines A320 MPL program.
