Each year, Patria selects specific not-for-profit organisations as its partners in accordance with its Ethical Code of Conduct and public relations guidelines. Patria does not support any political or religious activity.
Patria has a tradition of donating funds reserved for Season's greetings to assist work on the prevention of social exclusion of young people. In 2013, the donation was given to SOS Children´s Village Association which provides a viable option for children and youngsters in need of long-term foster care. In 2014, the donation will be given to the Save the Children Finland.
Patria continued the campaign with the Finnish Military Sport Federation aiming to promote a sports-oriented lifestyle among conscripts and thus improve their quality of life.
Patria has been sponsoring the Finnish Biathlon Association in 2011 and continues the cooperation in 2014-2015. Patria's sponsorship is managed centrally, with Group Marketing being the responsible organisation. All sponsorship requests and applications are handled in line with common criteria.
Patria, the Aviation Museum Society, Finland, the Finnish Air Force Museum and the Finnish Aviation Museum have agreed on the restoration of one VL Myrsky aircraft, with Patria as the main sponsor of the project. This is due to the fact that the Myrsky was originally designed, developed and manufactured by Patria's predecessor, the State Aircraft Factory. Young people studying in a number of technical education institutions, as well as youth workshops from locations such as Jyväskylä and Vantaa, are also strongly involved in the restoration project. The project will take an estimated six years and the Myrsky will be complete and ready for exhibition in the autumn of 2019.
