Patria Pilot Training and Nordic Regional Airlines, Norra, have signed an agreement on ab-initio pilot training.

Patria Pilot Training and Nordic Regional Airlines, Norra, have signed an agreement on ab-initio pilot training. The first course will start in May 2017. Patria will start the recruitment and selection process of the students on the 6 March, 2017. No prior flying experience is required of the applicants. Selected cadets will receive a conditional offer for employment from Norra and will be prioritised when new co-pilots are hired. To finance the training Patria can offer a guarantee for student’s study loan, thus ensuring that financing of studies will not become an obstacle to career aspirations.

“We are very pleased to start the training of pilots for Norra. Patria’s strong competence together with nearly 20 years’ of experience in basic flight training will guarantee a high degree of professionalism among Norra’s future co-pilots. Norra’s conditional employment offer together with Patria’s loan guarantee form a formidable concept for the cadets. We believe this will lower the threshold for talented youngsters to pursue a career in aviation”, says Mr. Mikko Paronen, Managing Director, Patria Pilot Training.

“Norra´s demand for new pilots will remain strong in the coming years and it is vital for our operations to select the right individuals for this responsible profession. Our close co-operation with Patria already during the training phase will ensure a good start for a co-pilot’s career at Norra, says Mr. Maunu Visuri, Managing Director of Norra.

Currently Patria Pilot Training Center operates at Tampere-Pirkkala airport and will relocate to a new, purpose-built training center at the same airport during spring 2017.
